Testing URLA 2020 Loan Application Workflows

We recommend testing your URLA 2020 loan application workflow end-to-end, from loan submission to signing disclosures. Review the information below for recommendations and best practices for testing URLA 2020 loan application workflows and features in Encompass Consumer Connect.

ClosedBest Practices

Test Environment

We recommend testing URLA 2020 workflows on your dedicated Encompass test instance. If you do not have an Encompass test instance, see the information inWorking Without an Encompass Test Instance on page 1, at the end of this document. If you are not sure if you have an Encompass test instance, contact your ICE Mortgage Technology Relationship Manager.

Persona Controls

  • Limit access to test population and review the persona controls to plan for who will have access to URLA 2020.

  • Start in your test environment.

Loan Application Version / Toggle

  • Toggling from URLA 2020 to URLA 2009 will not migrate or overwrite old data structures.

  • Toggling from URLA 2009 to 2020 will overwrite 2020 fields. Multiple changes and toggles can delete data based on interaction between the two formats.

  • Use parallel loan files for parallel testing rather than toggle.

ClosedSetting Up an URLA 2020 Loan Application for Testing

Follow the steps below to create the URLA 2020 loan application workflow and make it available on your test site. If you do not have an Encompass test instance, see the information in Working Without an Encompass Test Instance on page 1, at the end of this document.

To create an URLA 2020 Loan Application Workflow:

  1. In Encompass Consumer Connect Admin, go to Loan App Workflows.

  2. Create a new workflow or select the click the Edit icon () next to an existing workflow.

  3. Select URLA 2020 as the version of the application you would like to use.

If you are editing an existing workflow, a migration message immediately appears.

  4. Click Yes to migrate the current workflow settings to the URLA 2020 version. This means that any customizations made to the URLA 2009 loan application (such as changed titles and fields names, required fields, custom fields, and so on) except for Services settings, will be carried over into the URLA 2020 loan application.

    OR

Click No to use the default URLA 2020 loan application.

  5. Choose whether to allow consumers to progressively navigate through the application one page at a time.

  6. Configure the loan application workflow as desired, then click Save.

  7. Publish the URLA 2020 loan application workflow on your test site. You can do so in the Website Builder by either creating a new Apply Now button or editing an existing Apply Now button, and assigning your new URLA 2020 loan application workflow to it. After publishing your changes, you can begin testing the workflow.

ClosedTesting the Workflow on Your Encompass Test Instance

We recommend testing your URLA 2020 loan application workflow end-to-end, from loan submission to signing disclosures. Given the highly customizable configurations for each customer site, it remains our customers' responsibility to ensure their websites, online application workflows and borrower portal work according to expectations. While providing a complete test plan for the URLA 2020 loan application workflow is beyond the scope of this guide, we recommend testing the following high-level features:

Test Step Description
1. Account creation Ensure the verification email is received and the verification link points to the login screen.
2. Loan application creation Ensure all fields are visible and accept data. Test the new URLA 2020 fields, for example Borrower Military Service, Language Preference, Unit Type/ Number, and so on.
3. Service ordering

Test all applicable services, such as VOE, Credit, Product & Pricing, and AUS.

  • Adding Assets. Enter assets manually to ensure data is accepted for each field.
  • Ordering Credit. Confirm that the I accept the Credit Authorization Agreement? check box displays. Confirm that the Credit Report gets submitted. The confirmation message Success! The Credit Report has been orderedshould be displayed and the static text on the loan application should state You have ordered a credit report.

4. Viewing Incomplete Loan Apps
  • Leave the loan application and open the Administration Portal. Confirm that your incomplete loan application appears in the Incomplete Apps list. It should display towards the top of the list. You can filter the list of loans by the Credit Report Order Date column if necessary.

  • 5. Rates review and comparison
  • Transition back to the loan application in the borrower portal. Agree to review and compare rates. Confirm that Rates display correctly. Select and review a loan program.
    6. Accepting eConsent Confirm that the I Agree check box turns green and displays a green check mark, and the confirmation message Thank you for completing the eConsent Process is displayed.
    7. Declarations Ensure that selecting Yes from drop-down menus causes a 2nd question to be displayed where appropriate. For example, Have you had an ownership interest in another property in the last three years?
    8. Summary review Verify the Status indicator displays progress for all the options displayed. Verify all sections can be expanded, and randomly check the Summary for the data you provided in the application.
    9. Loan application submission Confirm that the Thank You message and Congratulations messages appear. Confirm that the Loan Officer gets the eConsent and loan submission email notifications.

ClosedWorking Without an Encompass Test Instance

If you do not have an Encompass test instance and you will be testing in your Production environment, we recommended creating an URLA 2020 application that is only accessible by a direct URL. The direct URL should only be shared with team members who are testing the application.

To Set Up a Test Application

    1. In Encompass, set up a loan folder and user ID for receiving the URLA 2020 test applications. Make sure the user ID has persona access to your Encompass Consumer Connect site. To learn how to set up a loan folder or a create a new user, see the Encompass online help.
    2. In the Encompass Consumer Connect administration portal, create a new URLA 2020 loan application workflow and copy the workflow ID.

      1. On the Loan App Workflow page, click the Create Workflow button to create a new workflow, or click the Duplicate icon to create a workflow from an existing workflow.

      2. Open your loan application workflow by clicking the Edit icon , then set URLA 2020 as the loan application version.

      3. Choose whether to allow consumers to progressively navigate through the application one page at a time.

      4. Configure the loan application workflow as desired, then click Save.
      5. Go back to the Loan App Workflows page, locate your new URLA 2020 workflow, and then copy and save the Workflow ID.

    3. Open your Encompass Consumer Connect site and click on any Apply Now button (or loan application link) on your site.

When the loan application opens, go to the URL (or link address) in the address bar.

The URL is made up of your Encompass Consumer Connect site URL, the path to the loan application, and the Loan Application Recipient's (LAR) user ID.

    4. In this next step, you 'll update the LAR and workflow ID in the URL. For example,

    5. https://Consumer Connect URL.mymortgage-app.net/?loanapp&siteid=site ID&lar=user ID&workFlowId= workflow ID

Where lar= is, replace the user ID with the user ID you created in Step 1.

      and

Where workFlowId= is, replace the workflow ID with the workflow ID you copied in Step 2e.

      For example,

    6. Load the page with the updated URL. Your new URLA 2020 test loan application should load in your browser.

    7. Save the URL. This is how you will access your URLA 2020 test loan application. Do not make this URL available to borrowers.
